Licensed life insurance for homeowners
If something happens to you, the house stays in the family.
Mortgage protection is simple life insurance sized to your loan. If you pass away, it pays your family enough to clear the mortgage — so nobody has to sell the home to cover it.
A rough idea of what people pay
Illustrative monthly premiums for a healthy non-tobacco applicant. Your actual rate depends on age, health and carrier.
Three steps, start to finish
Most people are done in under a week, and nothing costs a dollar until you say yes to a policy.
A short conversation
Tell us your loan balance, years remaining, and a little about your health. Fifteen minutes on the phone or video — whichever you prefer.
We shop the carriers
We're independent, so we compare A-rated insurers side by side and send you the two or three that actually fit, in writing, with the numbers.
You're covered
Apply in one sitting. Many approvals come back the same day, and coverage begins as soon as the first premium clears.
Four ways to cover the loan
We start with what you're trying to protect, then match it to the product that does it for the least money.
Term life
Most commonLevel coverage for 10 to 30 years, matched to what's left on your mortgage. The cheapest way to buy a large death benefit while the loan is big.
Whole life
PermanentCoverage that never expires and builds cash value you can borrow against. Useful when you want the house covered and something left over.
Final expense
SimplifiedSmaller face amounts with easy approval and no exam. Built for older homeowners or anyone who's been declined elsewhere.
Living benefits
RiderAccess part of your death benefit early if you're diagnosed with a critical, chronic or terminal illness — so the mortgage gets paid while you're still here.
Who we usually help
Just closed
You signed a 30-year commitment last month. This is the cheapest your coverage will ever be — lock it in now.
Refinanced
A new loan resets the clock. Most people forget to re-check whether their old policy still covers the balance.
Homeowners 50+
Rates climb fast after 55. There are still good options, and simplified-issue products avoid the exam entirely.
Young families
One income covering a mortgage, daycare and everything else is a lot of weight on one person. This takes the house off the list.
From homeowners we've placed
I assumed the bank's coverage did this. It didn't. Took one call to find out and one more to fix it.
We closed on a Friday and had a policy in place by the next Wednesday. No exam, no pressure, no upsell.
At 58 with a heart history I expected a no. They found a carrier who said yes at a price I could actually pay.
Questions people ask first
Is this the same as the coverage my lender offers?
No. Lender-paid mortgage insurance protects the bank, not your family, and the payout shrinks as your balance drops. Our policies pay your family directly, in full, and they keep the difference.
What if I sell the house or refinance?
The policy is yours, not the property's. Move, refinance, or pay the loan off early — the coverage and the price stay exactly the same.
Do I need a medical exam?
Often not. Several of our carriers approve healthy applicants in minutes using prescription and medical databases. If an exam gets you a materially better rate, we'll tell you.
What does it cost?
Most homeowners we work with land between $25 and $70 a month. Age, health and the size of the loan move that number more than anything else.
Can I get covered with a health condition?
Usually yes. Diabetes, high blood pressure, past cancer and mental-health history are all placeable — it's a matter of matching you to the carrier that treats your condition kindly.
